Minister of education Mallam Adamu Adamu : 7 things You need to know about accountant turned Journalist

Adamu was a loyal follower of President Muhammadu Buhari for years even before his election as the President of Nigeria.

Newly appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has different notion to different people.

For most Nigerians his appointments might be due to his loyalty to the president Buhari, while others think it may due to his outstanding performance in his first term as Minister.

Nigerian’s minister of education, Adamu was born on 25 May 1956 in Katagum, Bauchi State. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University where he obtained bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Adamu is multi-linguistic , being fluent in Arabic, Persian, Fulfulde, Hausa and French.

He got hired as an accountant at CCP after graduation and then continued to work at the CNL in Bauchi State, before joining the local government in the same position.

However, after deciding that he wants a better challenge, he thereafter proceeded to Columbia University’s School of Journalism. Where he obtained a master’s degree in Journalism.

He took his first newspaper editor job in 1984 but made a name for himself as a columnist for Daily Trust. During those years, he became popular being an active commentator on the matters that happening in Nigeria.

For a couple of years, the Minister of Education served as a Personal Assistant to late Chief Soloman Lar, one of the original supporters of the PDP and its first national chairman.

Adamu was a loyal follower of President Muhammadu Buhari for years even before his election as the President of Nigeria.

He was first appointed Minister of Education by President Buhari on November 2015. And now remains the holder to the Ministry.
