Sylvester Oromoni: Davido, Funke Akindele, other celebrities demands justice
Nigerian celebrities have demanded justice for 12-year-old Junior Secondary School student, Sylvester Oromoni who died from injuries he sustained after an assault by fellow students.
Sylvester Oromoni’s death went viral after a family member, identified as Perri, on Thursday posted the child’s ordeal on social media.
However, Dowen College Principal, Mrs. Adebisi Layiwola, in a statement denied any form of bullying or attack on the student.
The Lagos State government has shut down the school and ordered an investigation into the incident.
The likes of Davido, Funke Akindele, Tonto Dikeh, Mercy Johnson-Okojie have taken to social media demanding justice for Sylvester.
They called out the authorities of Dowen college to say the truth surrounding Sylvester’s death.
Davido on his Twitter page wrote: “Justice for Sylvester.”
@Tonto Dike “Dear Dowen college, I have been informed I am coming I am just gathering all the facts and history of this misfortune then we will talk don’t go nowhere, our children can’t go to school to be great and end up 6 feet below. God forbid that not why we trust schools.
@Funke Akindele “This is sad I can’t comprehend it. Justice for Sylvester.”
@Adesuwa Wellington “This poor baby, can’t imagine what the family must be going through. Quick question, Is Dowen College still not going to give Sylvester’s family a real explanation about what happened to their son? I don’t want to hear any football story. Do they really think this is going to go away? Somebody’s child.”
@UcheJombo “That football story was obviously ill-advised. Just waiting for Dowen college to give Sylvester’s family a real explanation about what REALLY happened to their son?
